Small town, big history.
The West Windsor VT Historical Society collects, preserves and shares the history of our community through programs, events, educational outreach and the museum.
The West Windsor Historical Society was founded 50 years ago to collect, protect and share the history of what makes our town unique.
Since that time, we’ve thrown hundreds of community dinners; collected and digitized over 2500 photographs and historic records; collected and cared for 235 museum artifacts and developed countless programs with local area schools and organizations.
Help us celebrate our anniversary and kick off our second half century by becoming a member today.
Our most important historical artifact is the Grange Hall itself. You may have noticed the new paint job and plantings. We’re getting ready to welcome you back with performances and exhibits in our upstairs space and community suppers in the dining room.
Events and Programs
Our story online.
West Windsor’s story is one of adventure, perserverance and change. Mostly change.
Since it’s beginnings as the West Parish of Windsor, early settlers and citizens recorded landsales, births, deaths, personal recollections and photographs. WWHS holds thousands of documents, oral histories and photographs.
Now, thanks to the dedication of our team of volunteers, that history has been tagged, scanned, recorded and posted online. As these records get organized, they are available through the link below. We have more that are not yet online, so please contact us.
Museum Renovation
We’ve been busy in the last year cleaning, de-accessioning and storing our artifacts in preparation for our museum reopening.

Did you know? The image above is from a rare advertising curtain upstairs at the Grange Hall. This handpainted image of the village of Brownsville from 1917 is one of the many treasures waiting to be discovered.
